Dementia Friendly Practice
With the support of the Wessex Academic Health Science network our surgery has become the first Dementia Friendly practice in Hampshire.
The surgery was officially opened on April 29, 2014 by Professor Alistair Burns, who is the National Clinical Director for Dementia from NHS England.
Dr Nicola Decker (Dementia lead) led the project which aims to ensure that all patients who have dementia (and their carers) are treated with compassion and respect. She modelled the work in the work done by the Royal College of Nursing in 2011 to create dementia friendly hospital environments.
