Salaried GP – Fixed Term Contract (for 6 to 9 months) 4 – 6 sessions per week

We are a friendly training practice in north Hampshire, looking for a salaried GP to cover a period of 6-9 months maternity leave, starting in August 2025. We are looking for a GP to work 4-6 sessions (2 of which must be worked on a Friday), who has a commitment to providing high quality care to work as part of a great team, to take on duty and routine sessions, provide appropriate admin cover for a list holding GP and provide both routine and acute visits to those who need it. We cover the areas of Overton, Oakley and Kingsclere, and the successful applicant would be expected to work at all 3 sites.

We currently have 6 GP Partners and 11 salaried GPs caring for a diverse population of 19,150 patients.  We are a mixed rural/semi-rural practice in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Our highly valued practice team includes a Nurse Manager, five practice nurses as well as Nurse Associates/Health Care Assistants and supportive Admin and Reception Teams.

We also work closely with our neighbouring practice, Tadley, to form the Rural West PCN and share supporting roles of MSK practitioners, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, a broad mental health team, health and well-being advisors and care coordinators.

Medical Receptionist – Two vacancies are available 20 hrs (part time) & up to 37.5 hrs (full time)

We are a friendly, forward-thinking GMS training practice looking after approximately 19,000 patients in attractive rural villages within Overton / Oakley (Hampshire) and Kingsclere (Berkshire).

We are currently looking for one full time and one part-time medical receptionists to work at Overton Surgery / Kingsclere Health Centre / Oakley Surgery – a car driver and being flexible is essential as you will be working across all three sites to support our busy practices.

The successful candidates will ideally have recent experience working within a busy reception environment, have an excellent telephone manner, be patient focused, strong communication skills, a good team player and a sense of humour.

Our reception teams cover from 8am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, so you will be working as part of a rota to cover these hours. Working additional hours will be required when other receptionists are on leave plus covering clinics out of hours.

CVD Care Coordinator

The Rural West Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking to recruit a second cardiovascular disease (CVD) Care Co-ordinator, to work alongside the existing CVD Care Co-ordinator and as part of our PCN’s wider team to enhance our friendly, busy network of practices. The Network consists of two GP Partnerships in north Hampshire: Tadley Medical Partnership and Watership Down Health with surgeries in Kingsclere, Overton, Oakley and Tadley.

The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to patients across the Rural West PCN with long-term Conditions (LTC); specifically, those people with cardiovascular disease (CVD), high blood pressure, heart disease and strokes. This is a non-clinical role, but the successful candidate will play a key role in proactively identifying and working with these patients, their families and carers to improve the ongoing management of their condition.

The postholder will work closely with the GPs, nurses and the wider practice teams, to make sure that patients with CVD receive the very best care and reviews according to individual need. The role involves giving patients the opportunity for health reviews to manage and improve their long-term health and wellbeing, as well as encouraging those less engaged.

This non-clinical role is administrative rather than patient facing, but patient contact by telephone is a key element, as the role involves organising appointments directly with the patients. The postholder will provide support to patients as a regular point of contact for CVD related needs, as well as supporting the clinical teams as they provide patient care. This will include managing blood pressure information coming into our sites.

The postholder will enable registered patients to access the services and support they require to meet their health and wellbeing needs, helping to improve people’s quality of life. They will work alongside our Social Prescribing link workers and Health and Wellbeing Coaches to provide an all-encompassing approach to personalised care and enable people to navigate through the health and care system. The postholder will also work with a diverse range of people from different cultural and social backgrounds.

Applicants will need excellent administration, interpersonal and communication skills and be organised, motivated and empathetic. The ability to work confidently and effectively in a varied and sometimes challenging environment is essential. The postholder will preferably have experience of working in a primary care setting, ideally in health, social care or other support roles.

The post is full time (37.5 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays), but with flexibility of working hours and is predominantly surgery based. It requires travel across the Network to the surgeries of both Partnerships, so flexibility of working and access to private transport is essential.
